Sharman Robertson Solicitors
At Sharman Robertson Solicitors, we are dedicated to providing all of our clients with excellent representation. We are criminal law specialists, practising primarily in the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales, however, our experience also extends to Queensland. Our office has also appeared on numerous occasions in the ACT Supreme Court as Counsel in both jury trials and sentencing hearings.
Tim Sharman (LLB)
Tim holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University and was admitted to practice in both the ACT and NSW in 1998. He has experience handling complex cases of all types and regularly appears as an advocate in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts. Tim is a member of the AFL (NSW/ACT) Appeal Board and has worked as an instructor for the ANU Legal Workshop for over 10 years.
Jacob Robertson (LLB Bbus (Intl. Bus))
Jacob specialises in criminal law and has appeared in the ACT, NSW and QLD Magistrates and Superior Court jurisdictions as well as the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Galambany Sentencing Court and the Sentence Administration Board. Jacob has successfully represented clients charged with a vast array of offences including traffic offences, the importation of illicit substances and murder. Previously, Jacob's particular focus was regarding the plight of young people through the criminal justice system, as he was the dedicated Children's Court solicitor for two years. Jacob is a current member of the ACT Law Society Criminal Law Committee and is also an avid rugby union and cricket player, having played with the Tuggeranong Vikings, Weston Creek Molonglo Cricket Club and played in a cricket championship in the West Indies.
Peter Dingwall (LLB Hons.)
Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the Australian National University and was admitted to practice in both the ACT and NSW in 1975. He worked as solicitor in the Commonwealth Crown Solicitor’s Office for five years, practising in criminal and civil litigation, including Trade Practices cases in the Federal Court. He is a former District Registrar of the Federal Court and for five years was the Registrar of the ACT Supreme Court and Registrar of Probates. He was a Magistrate and Coroner in the ACT for 26 years, until his retirement in 2016. He will act as a consultant in the areas of criminal and civil litigation and will assist clients with wills and probates. Peter is a former first grade and representative rugby union player. He is now actively involved with equestrian sports, particularly showjumping. He is the current President of Equestrian NSW and the ACT Showjumping Club.
Bowan Shelton (LLB)
Bowan graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Laws and a graduate diploma of Legal Practice. He worked as an associate in the ACT Supreme Court before joining Sharman Robertson. Bowan is a current player and coach with the Tuggeranong Hawks AFL Club and also has a love for fishing, with a keen interest in Murray Cod and Snapper.
